Holemasters Scotland Limited met yesterday with personnel from the ZL Group
The meeting was asked for by the ZL Group to introduce themselves to us and to
informs of their intention to buy the controlling interest in the club.
At this meeting we were asked if we, as a company, were still willing to continue
with our sponsorship commitments with the club, if, when, or should they be successful in the buyout.
At this meeting we, the company, stated we were already committed to a sponsor deal with the club and could see no reason not to continue with this as we are and had committed 2016/2017 & 2017/2018 with an option for 2018/2019 if we were still in a position to continue.
At this point I can also confirm I was also aware of the Consortium but not aware of any further information until I read in the local advertiser detailing some of the people involved. It was also mentioned that they were interested with working with my company Holemasters and other people who sponsored the club, that’s all we were aware of.
After yesterday’s meeting was over I was informed that Stuart Shields had called and that I was to give him a call back to which I did. During this call Stuart informed me of the intention of the consortium and apologised for not contacting me sooner. At that point I informed Stuart of my meeting with the ZL Group and our agreement to continue with our sponsorship.
We as a company are very open and willing to speak to and listen to anyone with regards to the running and survival of our local football team and our door remains open to this.
As the club statement said Holemasters have pledged to continue with their support of the Club.
And as for the equity stake – Holemasters did state that going forward any further investment made would be in the form of purchasing of shares as it would make good business sense.
We hope that we have shown to all Airdrie Fans the commitment we have to the club, whether that’s with sponsorship, Maggie’s involvement or other community based projects. We stepped in at a time of real uncertainty but are now looking forward to watching the club progress on and off the pitch.
